Spa asked: I have am a highschool and college graduate (4 year term)
I am thinking about opening my own travel agency. What are some good tips to follow…things I should include in the company…or things I should know to be a good agency owner?
How much do travel agents make?
How much would I make if I opened my own agency…hired an assistant to work Tues-Thurs for $80 a day and have her work the sales Friday-Monday and make 40% of sales plus 65 dollars a day.
Are those prices/statistics good? On average compared to other(s) or in theory how much do u think I’ll make.
I will work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Tell me is I need to make corrections at all or if I should change anything?
Also how much does a regular agent make an hour? year?

How much would it start to make one. Not a fancy one or anything like that. Kind of empty actually…two desks….filing cabinets…a back room…and couches..paint job..all i really need to buy is the small building….have you ever seen big fat greek wedding? that kind of place that tula works in with the aunt.

Dee G asked: My boyfriend and I would like to take a small vacation during the christmas holidays, but we don’t have a big budget, so we need to find a good vacation deal. Does anyone have some good destinations in mind that you can generally get a good deal on? We’d prefer travel outside the U.S., but realize this will up our costs tremendously. I’m wondering if there are certain travel destinations that aren’t bombarded by tourists during the holidays that may offer good deals?

We can fly pretty much anywhere, but looking for ideas, prices, places, good memories as well as negative ones if you have them. We are not stuck on a tropical vacation either… Have considered Europe as a possibility.
We have traveled to Cancun, Mexico before as well as St. Croix, Virgin Islands and all over Florida. We preferred Cancun simply because there was more to do and go see AND the fact there were many family oriented ALL INCLUSIVE resorts to choose from.
Any ideas, suggestions and tips would be appreciated.
